Wake me up

Posted on Mon, 2 Dec 2013 by midcenturyjo

Wake me up when Monday is over. No go away. I’m serious. I want to stay under the covers and slip back into my dream. The one where I live in a small but perfectly formed beach house in Portugal. Simple and stylish, layers of texture and colours of the sea. A wonderful dream where there are never any Mondays, never any Mondayitis. A dream designed by Vera Iachia of course.

Helena Blomqvist

I could use a little dose of pretty today since it’s white and cold and dead outside. (I spent an hour shoveling snow last night and an hour and a half walking back and forth to work in the white stuff so I am a little bitter that winter has officially arrived). These pretty spaces were captured by talented Swedish photographer Helena Blomqvist.

More loft love

OMG how I love this loft!!! It is a former carpet store located in Barcelona, 170 m2 of absolute dreaminess and is rented out as a location space. Those massive black framed windows are so beautiful and create so much light. How bit sad that the entire ceiling was painted white though. Via Shoot 115.

The exhibitionist

Stark minimalism in black and white. Glass walls like a gold fish bowl. Everything on show. Reflective surfaces bouncing light. Hard, lean, buffed. The perfect exhibitionist. But wait there is a softer side. Concealed lighting throws rough bricks into relief. Solid planks warm walls. Could you? Would you? Are you a secret exhibitionist.
