Primary colours could not be cooler

Posted on Wed, 24 Jul 2019 by KiM

I never in a million years would have that I could fall this much in love with a home where the accent colours are red, blue and yellow. And this kitchen is now added to my top 5 favourites (don’t ask me what the other 4 are LOL). I am head over heels for this 5,200 sq ft penthouse apartment, formerly a hospital, located in the heart of West Village. Designed by Studio Shamshiri, photos by Shade Degges.

Pink and green

Designers and partners Luke Edward Hall and Duncan Campbell live in an apartment in North London that occupies the second floor of a mid-nineteenth century townhouse. They love of vintage and mixing periods is evident in their home, as well as their love of colour and experimenting with paint. The first group of photos are from Luke’s website when the apartment was a study in green, and the second group are from Duncan’s website when pink and yellow were doing their thing.

Malene Birger’s Italian villa

Posted on Sun, 26 May 2019 by KiM

Danish fashion designer Malene Birger should have really started her career as an interior designer. Her 1905 Italian stone house on a hillside with views of Lake Como is decorated with the most incredible maximalist, eclectic style that is blowing my mind. Black, white, brown and the most glorious ochre/mustard/spicey yellow I have ever seen, and a divinely random mix of vintage finds from flea markets and auctions around the world. Via Skönahem, photos by Birgitta Wolfgang.

It has been quite a while since we featured the work of London interior design studio Kia Designs so a big thanks to Miriam for sending over these photos of one their latest projects. This newly built 3 bedroom apartment in Fitzrovia is sophisticated and luxurious, yet comfortable. Such beautiful rich colours (that mustard/gold sofa!) and bold patterns (those curtains!) that add drama and warmth.

Eclectic and colourful granny chic

Posted on Thu, 31 Jan 2019 by KiM

Eclectic and colourful, with an overtone of granny chic. Which makes this home absolutely to die for because I love all of those things together. This is such a mash-up of styles, and the colours are so beautiful I can’t stop staring at these photos and inspecting every intriguing inch. Congrats to Chloe Warner of design firm Redmond Aldrich for turning this San Francisco carriage home into something spectacular.
