Live in a small studio apartment? Basically just one room in which to cram your living sleeping and kitchen? Love to cook but don’t want to stare at the kitchen sink while you’re reclining on your bed? Rather forget that you live in just that one room? Here is a little inspiration from Melbourne based Nicholas Agius Architects. (Now I just wonder what the studio apartment looked like when the rest of the “stuff” was moved in.)

When you can almost reach out and touch the blue Mediterranean Sea from your terrace, when the sun baths your holiday house in golden light and when the views are of the green forested headlands then choosing a colour palette is easy. South African design firm Jacket Interiors “marries comfort and functionality with beauty and style in contemporary designs born out of timelessly classic tastes.” A definite flair and restrained elegance, carefully collected and curated, simple, liveable luxury. But perhaps it is the hero of the design, the bold choice of yellow as the statement colour that makes the house so memorable.

Marcin and Magda Konopka of Polish design firm Ministerstwo Spraw We Wnętrzach (Ministry of Interior Affairs) are back at it with another modern gem of a project. This one has a mid century modernist twist and accents in bright yellow throughout, keeping things cheerful and fun. There’s my favourite tumbling block pattern tile used in a few places, and holy smokes the upholstered bed alcove is gorgeous!!
