I had visitors coming. I had a bedroom in disarray. I freaked out. I cursed, snapped at my husband, almost tripped over the dog and set to work. See more on my page.
Clever! Lease the last remaining block in the hottest street in town but need a budget build? Need to retain existing trees because, of course, you have leased? Containers and polycarbonate sheeting. Brilliant, colourful, fun and down right funky. Retail design done with smarts. The Decameron by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27. Inteligente!
I spotted the following photos on the website of New York design firm Carrier and Company and had to feature them here. I was drawn to the window treatment in the dining room. It’s super casual and works so well in a rustic/country setting. And I have such a strong desire to find a really large industrial sink when we rebuild our house. The sink in the bathroom below is SO cool! (Jo blogged this firm back here).
I’d like to introduce you all to the wonderful world of interior design by Canadian Jessica Kelly. She lays the groundwork for contemporary spaces in cool, calm neutrals and then all the homeowners have to do is personalize with photos of their dog, a stack of favourite coffee table books, a pair of Hunter boots at the front door and they’re all set. 😉
It’s still about simplicity, balance, elegance and proportion. The spaces are still clean and crisp. Form still follows function, the modern minimalist feel continues. So what is different from the last time I featured Shareen Joel‘s work? An expanded portfolio and lots more lovely pictures on her website that’s what. Wonderful work.
