Sara Drougge

Posted on Fri, 17 Feb 2012 by KiM

It’s been a loooooong, somewhat torturous week and thank gawd it’s Friday. I am in need of some pretty photos for a little pick-me-up. I think some interiors from the portfolio of Swedish photographer Sara Drougge will do the trick. Love the home in the first couple of photos (but odd how it’s built right into rock – interesting view out of the patio doors).

An uncomplicated style

Simple, clean and never over styled. Are you finding that the more and more you are exposed to highly styled magazine photos and perfect high end design that you crave something a little less full on, a bit more uncomplicated? Like a breath of fresh air after all the stuffiness. Something a little messy not primped and preened into perfection. Something like the portfolio of stylist Leesa O’Reilly. I know I am.

This post is nothing more than me suddenly craving black…badly.

M. Elle Design encore

Jo’s post on Santa Monica interior design team M. Elle Design (consisting of mom Mary Lynn Turner and her daughters Marie and Emily) almost 2 years ago was very well received. Their casual, understated yet elegant style is a hot commodity in the design world, especially when you can pull it off as fabulously as these ladies can. I thought I’d slap you in the face with a second dose of eye candy from their portfolio.

Magnus Anesund part one

Two homes today from the portfolio of Swedish photographer Magnus Anesund. What I love most about Magnus’ work is the attention to the personal detail. The photos are like looking into the heart of the family that lives in each home. The first one an urban hangout for a creative family. It is almost like we are nosing around this home while the owner is making tea in another room. We’re carrying on a conversation but our eyes are darting everywhere drinking it all in. Great photos.
