Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 9 Apr 2012 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet!)

I have just rearranged the entire living room at my home with a new sofa, chair, coffeetable and a lot of other stuff. The first week our cats wondered around frustrated that they couldn´t find the usual sleep places. But now one of our cats, Raphaello, found his new best place – my Acapulcu chair! Also look for the other animals in my livingroom on the photo 😉

They’re Mr Balin (my 7 months puppy) and Maxito+Madelein (my 2-y.o. kittens)… and they’re the proof that cats and dogs can live together in peace. Lolz. We moved a month ago to my present home –a small flat in Murcia– and I’m sure that all of ’em loved the change. Here they’re on my bed… I really love my bedroom: lamp was customized by a friend, bedspread by Paula Eider, round 70’s table by Kibuk and striped box+photoframe from Ikea.

Here’s a fun one of a custom ottoman I made for our cats to enjoy!  I’ve started creating design videos for Youtube and posted a making of it!  Our orange kitty Elton is just a charmer.  While we were making the video, if you watch very closely in the opening scenes, you’ll see him in the bottom left corner just hanging around!

Here is two pictures of my cat Pusur posing on a green chair, he doesent really like posing but with a little patience he makes a great photo model!

These are pictures of my dog Rumor. She is my beautiful Shetland Sheepdog! She was my grandparent’s dog and when they both passed away she was left to me because I have always loved her and wanted her as my own since the day the rescued her!

This is my boy Charlie, on my brand new-to-me sideboard. It had been in the apartment about 15 mins and I started snapping pics to send to my dad, and Charlie hopped up to be part of the photoshoot…

easter reading guide – part three

Posted on Mon, 9 Apr 2012 by midcenturyjo

So sad! It’s the last day of the holidays and the last day of reading guides. So happy! I have more wonderful blogs to share. Was the Easter Bunny good to you? Have you overdosed on chocolate eggs? Time to burn off those calories by racing around the world from blog to blog. Enjoy!

Blogroll update

Posted on Sun, 8 Apr 2012 by KiM

While Jo is showing some blog love this weekend with her reading lists, I thought this would be a great opportunity to update our blogroll (since I’m off work until Wednesday). I love getting to know new blogs (Jo’s reading lists are a start!) so feel free to leave your blog URL in the comments of this post. We have a bit of basic criteria first – that your blog be at least somewhat related to interior design, that you blog fairly regularly and that you share some blog love and please reciprocate by including us in your blogroll. So that’s it – hopefully over the next few days I’ll get a chance to go through them all. Thanks! (P.S. I took the photo above at one of my favourite local restaurants – see more on Kim’s page).

Aaarrrrggghhh! I have eaten too many chocolate bunnies! But I can never have too many new blogs! You know the drill. Maybe new to you, maybe new to me but all a treasure trove of design inspiration. Time for our next installment of easter blog loving.

easter reading guide – part one

Welcome! Welcome! welcome! New blogs to you, newblogs to me. Let’s explore. Let’s be inspired. Let’s share the love. Crack open the first chocolate bunny of the season and start reading. (If you are like me that will be your second chocolate bunny… or third.)
