I want a barn with blue shutters

Posted on Tue, 13 Aug 2013 by midcenturyjo

Sometimes I hate real estate stalking. Sometimes it just makes me mad. Mad with jealousy. I want a barn with blue shutters. Old timber and quaint doors and soaring ceilings and a big fire place. I want a claw foot bath and an old vintage sink. I want to live in a quaint country town in a street called Wombat. I want this barn…. full of all my things. Lend me some money please? I’ll let you stay in the “guest wing”. Link here while it lasts.

Kara Mann encore

Posted on Tue, 13 Aug 2013 by midcenturyjo

She’s a shining star of the U.S. interior design scene and we haven’t featured her work in years. Mea culpa. Time to atone. Sophisticated, multi-layered rooms, sometimes moody, at others glitzy, always inspiring. Modern mixed with traditional, fashion with art. Kara Mann… pure drama.

Max Zambelli – lightness

I’m not done with photographer Max Zambelli‘s work yet. Here are some of my favourite light interior spaces.

Max Zambelli – darkness

Max Zambelli is an Italian photographer that, with his camera lens, can turn a fantastic space into a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC space that exudes drama and makes you want to see more. The spaces he has captured are so gorgeous and original that I am in complete awe. What a lucky guy to have experienced them personally. Here are a selection of dark interiors from his repertoire.

P.S. Sorry, no pets on furniture post today. I didn’t receive enough entries. 🙁 But go on over to my page and check out my herd’s new hangout!

Sea of green

Close your eyes. Relax. Sleep will come. Like floating softly in a sea of green. Beautiful photography by Brie Williams.

P.S. To see the alternative view of this room (featured a couple of times on this blog) go to my original post here.
