A garage loft in Amsterdam

Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014 by KiM

No, I will never tire of industrial spaces. When James van der Velden of BRICKS Amsterdam emailed to let me know he has completed a few new projects, I admittedly got pretty damn excited. He is a master at industrial decor and this Garage loft in Amsterdam is legit and so very cool. I am going to go to bed tonight dreaming about this space with a giant smile on my face. (I should IG that sh*t)

P.S. Check out previous posts of his work here, here, here and here

Almost

Almost perfect. Almost real. Almost losing my mind trying to convince myself they really are computer generated. Definitely lovely. Florence apartment interiors by Filippo Carandini.

Port-a-bach

Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014 by midcenturyjo

We all know that New Zealanders like their bachs. We’ve featured quite a few of these holiday homes on the blog but never a shipping container bach. Clever and stylish, relocatable and able to be off grid or on. The Port-a-bach prototype by Bonnifait + Giesen Atelierworkshop.

A country retreat

This Hudson Valley colonial retreat designed by Brooklyn’s Workstead is an absolutely stunning, simple country getaway. I am sure returning to city life would be tough after a weekend spent here. (We love their work – 1, 2, 3)

The Studio at Harrods

Posted on Mon, 8 Sep 2014 by KiM

I recently learned via some googling that Harrods department store has its own team of architects and interior designers that form The Studio at Harrods. Their style (not surprisingly) leans a bit towards traditional but the homes they have designed are so beautiful and this style really suits the landscape. Serene, classy and timeless. It works.

P.S. Sorry, no pet post today. I’m short on entries again. 🙁
