Shoot me

Posted on Fri, 21 Jun 2013 by midcenturyjo

That’s it. Put me out of my misery. Just shoot me because I fell in love with a yellow chair I found on sfgirlbybay and followed the link and lost my heart to a home I will never have on location maestros Shoot Factory‘s books and I’m distraught. Just shoot me. Put me out of my misery. More photos here.

Dear Kat Teutsch …

Your portfolio is brilliant! The colour, it’s graphic quality, the sense of fun, the punch of personality these photos pack. You’ve put a smile on my face and a couple of decorating ideas into my files. Fabulous photography by Kat Teutsch.

Jonas Ingerstedt

Jonas Ingerstedt, you are my new photographer crush. And I’ve got it BAAAAAD. Jo featured your work a few years ago, and I’m sorry we forgot all about you. The spaces you have photographed are absolutely incredible, and made even more incredible by your ability to perfectly capture them through your lens. Who would have thought I’d love an orange and black kitchen so much? Or light blue kitchen cabinets? Or a pink hallway? And my love for Tom Dixon’s copper shade pendant has grown stonger because of you…

Magnus Marding latest

It has been far, FAR too long since I featured the work of ridiculously talented Swedish photographer Magnus Marding. It’s so easy to get lost in his photos, and wish you in one of those spaces to witness the beauty first-hand. I had to put the photo above first because it’s my dream bedding – I can’t get enough of wrinkled linen, and the colours are gorgeous. *drooling*

Inside Out is out

Posted on Wed, 12 Jun 2013 by midcenturyjo

There are the special little things in life that fill a slow rainy day (or a crazy busy day why won’t it SLOW DOWN… ooops sorry). Little things that make me happy. A good magazine is one of them. And Inside Out is a great magazine. I always get a wee bit over excited when an email from managing editor Lee Tran Lam is sitting in my box. Do we want to see a house? Yes please!

“It’s from our new Jul/Aug issue and it’s of a makeover of a Dutch farmhouse. The revamp included lots of upcycling – and in fact, the floor of the top storey is made of old cheeseboards! The styling is by Studio Viva Vida of The Netherlands and the photography is by Jean-Marc Wullschleger.”

Yeah! There are even pictures that didn’t make it into the magazine after the jump. Bonus! Aussie readers will of course be heading to the newsagents to pick up their copy out today. (That’s if you don’t already subscribe.) Don’t fret if you aren’t in Australia though because you can read along on ZinioGoogle Play and the Apple Newsstand!
