Marta de la Rica

What a way to start the week! Let’s all move into this party home extraordinaire. Designed by Madrid interior designer Marta de la Rica this house in the resort of Sotogrande in Andalusia is perfect for long hot Spanish days. Friends and family, fun and relaxation. The dining room is just right for a long lunch, curl up for a movie in the family room, party time on the entertainment deck and pool house. Actually you’ll find me in those stunning bathrooms. I always love a bathroom.

It’s pattern on pattern, colour, layering, bold and quirky touches. It’s casual yet chic, elegant but slightly screwy. It’s WASP chic with a kick of fun, high and low and just darned pretty. It’s interior design duo of the moment Suysel DePedro Cunningham and Anne Maxwell Foster of Tilton Fenwick.

Lucy Fenton

Ever imagine what it would be like living in your favourite shop? Well if the wonderland of a store Fenton & Fenton is that shop then 33 Wattle Rd, Hawthorne is where you should be living. As one of a number of creatives asked to style a display apartment last year Lucy Fenton brought her shop to life in an otherwise boring cookie cutter apartment. Colourful, quirky, beautiful her apartment showcased all that her Prahan shop has come to stand for. And now her newly launched website brings her shop to life for those who can’t walk through the doors. A must see gallery if you love colour with a touch of ethnic aesthetic, vintage with midcentury re-invented and the unexpected, always the unexpected. Love!

Take a stark white shell and have some fun. Exclamation marks of colour restrained by dark floors and blindingly white walls. Push it even further with purple psychedelia in the bedroom then blow the whole thing apart with a bathroom that is definitely a knockout. Interior designer Craig Spencer is known for his broodingly dark portfolio. His latest project in Pott’s Point takes his dark luxury and turns it inside out. Serious fun for the seriously brave. (You can see more of Craig’s work on Desire to Inspire here, here and here.)
