Jen Talbot Design

I’m not sure how we have not yet featured the designs of Chicago-based interior designer Jen Talbot before. Mixing modern and vintage, and embracing dark colours for some dramatic moodiness are elements I absolutely love. And her bathrooms are inspiration-folder worthy. So fun!!!

Dark drama

Dark and dramatic, moody and marvellous this Woollahra cottage by interior architect Phoebe Nicol is like a stage set perfect for playing out your everyday life with panache. A wall of mirror increases the sense of space in the narrow house while a carefully curated collection of antique and contemporay furniture pices, artwork and objet plays against the dark walls. In contrast the bedroom is light yet soft, a personal oasis.

Maybe not the top of the world but how about a stellar view from this Greenwich Peninsula apartment? And the cereal? Why it’s a collaboration between Cereal Magazine and Conran. Featuring contemporary and vintage pieces in a moody grey setting of concrete, stone and dark timbers the Cereal ABODE is for sale via Aucoot.

For a girl who can never keep wine around long enough to store properly can we talk about this cellar by Studio Gorman? We know there must be some treasures on those shelves because it’s hidden behind a secret door. A fabulous rustic cavern for quaffing only the best.
