I do like a hidden kitchen, everything behind a bank of doors. Clean lined and contemporary. Take a closer look at this garden pavillion extension to a post war bungalow. Can you see it? Yes there it is. Hiding. House Au Yeung by Tribe Studio Architects.

Just had to share one more project from Johannesburg-based Tonic Design. Is that a bar room I spy? Yes please!
What to do when the house you are refurbishing is perhaps the most beautiful example of Le Corbusier-inspired architecture in Johannesburg? How to breathe new life into an iconic building by local Modernist hero Rex Martienssen? Keep it true, keep it real and let the owner’s personality shine through. I’m green with envy over that verdant entry. Greenside Residence by Tonic Design.

Another day another stalking. You’d never guess from its rather unassuming 19th century facade that this inner Sydney terrace house is actually an ultra modern home. There seems to be little of the original house left but sometimes living inner city means keeping true to the streetscape and doing your own thing behind closed doors. The rear elevation is quite striking and the garage with loft over is just too cute. Link here while it lasts.
Different shades of green and blue are the heroes of the redesign of this 30th floor apartment in Kiev by Oleksii Venediktov and his design firm Special Project Venediktov. Bold, unique, a little Scandinavian with an undercurrent of industrial. I love how the colours change as the light advances and wanes changing the feel of the apartment.
