This is Sofie, my 15 weeks old kitten. She’s a British Longhair and moved in three weeks ago. She’s adjusted pretty well, but pooped in her playtunell while I was cleaning today. Guess the vacuum and moving of furniture was too much for her…

🌟Instagram reality check 🌟. I had a moment of hesitation before posting this photo. I LOVE this photo and really any that includes Eva and a plant. However, I usually get many unfollows whenever I include her. I get it, my account is about plants and how we incorporate them into our home..not about Eva. I'll admit I'm guilty of unfollowing accounts when they stray from their usual content. You know.. you find a feed that is about healthy recipes and next thing you know you're staring at someone's glutes and wondering how they got their pants on😂. Sorry, I was here for the spinach recipes, bye! The reality is that everyone is allowed to run their own show – they should post what they want, not what they think other people want. If others love it, great! If not, no problem! Social media is capable of some vicious mental games and I sure don't want to be a part of it. Meet #enidcat’s new body double #berylcat which was sent over by the lovely people @carocomms from the new @vitra collection. Now I don’t have to wait for Enid to come back from shopping to get the shot. And look at this seamless sideswipe. Saw it on @jhinteriordesign feed the other day and have been puzzling over it ever since. Then the @panoraapp was suggested to me and bingo. Don’t be fooled by the sad, wistful look. Moments earlier this morning Pierre was rubbing his face everywhere as he had just snacked on 1 of the 30 smoked kangaroo bones I picked up on the weekend. Swipey swipe for the face that says I know something that you don’t, suck eggs. What like buying a coffee grinder on Saturday so you can have ground kangaroo liver on your dinner makes your farts smell worse than normal. Nope, already worked that one out. Enclosed two photos of my cat, Gimmy, who was a stray and now lives in my home. One picture shows how he loves to take a nap on the hand maid cushion.  The carpet is from the 70s.  The pictures on the wall were from old books that were framed.  The cushions on the sofa are hand made.  On the shelf, old ceramics collection. The second picture, Gimmy enjoying lazing on the porch, amongst the shrubbery.

Last I wrote to you, we had two rescue dogs.  Since that time, I have become very involved in rescue and am so happy to be a part of saving dogs from both California and Mexico!  Anyway, we now have FIVE of our own and today I took the photo I am enclosing, with one guy missing.

I've read a few blog posts and IG posts of lots of people who are getting sick of Instagram's finicky ways. Images we think are going to do well tank, engagement is down, most of the people who follow you never see your posts and the anxiety that's caused by trying to somehow 'beat' the algorithm never work – or at least they don't for long. I think we're all tired of it. I debated whether to put this picture up on my feed – I like it. Of course I do. It's my cat. But I doubted myself – people like full room shots (of which I have very few which are currently 'Instagram-worthy'), they don't always love cats, they follow me for interiors, they will unfollow me if they see anything slightly different to what I normally post. But ya know what? Screw it. I'm posting this picture anyway. It's my feed, I like it, Imma gonna do what I want and the Instagram Gods can suck it. In fact, my expression towards IG's stupid algorithm is exactly what Meisha's face is doing right now. Shift over Chester! 🐶 After another flying visit to London this is where you’ll find me tonight, make up off, pj’s on! Thank you so much to @westelmuk for a beautiful Friendsgiving feast and @tala for showing us around your fabulous studio last night. Their commitment to the planet is so inspiring. They’re currently working on a range of products which includes a floor lamp and pendant light made from recycled Heineken bottles. The following photo is from my sister Jen. I bought this pink chair at Highjinx for my niece for Christmas. The story over the holidays was that my sister and brother-in-law had to carry the heavy chair around from room to room because my niece insisted on lounging on it wherever she was. Now the story is Spencer, one of their 3 cats, has discovered it and has claimed it as his favourite spot. (The print above it was a gift from me a while back from Stay Home Club)

And some from me. The best captures of my herd are on the bed, so here’s another one where some serious cat puddles were happening (on my Magic Linen duvet cover).

Felix loves the Green Light District chair.

Lucky isn’t ancient as far as cats go, but he’s been showing his age lately (14?) so I’m giving him scritches and shooting his adorableness as often as I can. Here he passed out at my spot at the dining table.

So while 3 of the biggest Interiors insta events are taking place all over the country this weekend, we are packing up and heading off to Devon in the opposite direction. I won’t lie I’m extremely gutted to not be attending them and have serious FOMO 😭, but there is the small matter of the husbands 50th birthday and I think he would actually kill me if I even hinted at postponing it for and Instagram event🙄 (although I did seriously consider it). . . Anyway we are headed to Devon with the kids and one of their older brothers for some family time, good food and beach walks. It’s not quite @occasionalhome, @2rebelbellas or @northern_quarters festival, but it will be a nice break away together and with any luck I’ll be able to hunt out an interiors shop or 2 to get my fix and make up for what I’m missing. 😉 . . Hold the phone! It's a new angle! One that makes me want to style that little bookcase in to Instagram glory, but as its the only real bookcase it also has to house my emergency supplies of Scottish detective novels. Also known as "proof of reading" for the kindle addict I am. As a babysitting teen I was quite judgemental about houses with no books, and that has carried on to a mild paranoia of not having enough books in my house.
