When someone clearly understands the importance of  “flow”. Our Baxter project was a careful modernization of a 1904 classic California bungalow. Ceramics, matte finishes, natural materials and uncovering of expansive views drove the design. A central artery of millwork allowed us to create generous storage where it had previously been lacking. A custom bookshelf climbs two stories to house an extensive literature collection. The kitchen and closets were designed for ease of use and hiding of clutter. Now that would be an answer I’d love to give. I can just imagine being perched above one of my favourite cities and the space I have in mind would be very much like this loft by Bfs Design. Clean, straight lines, a little concrete soften by walls of warm wood, industrial with a mid century riff and houseplants perched to take over if given half a chance.

We are the biggest fans of Paris architecture firm double g so it comes as no surprise that I adore the home of Anne Geistdoerfer (one half of the firm alongside Flora de Gastines). All of the built in shelving blows my mind (2 posts in a row!), and the colour palette of black, blue and green is dramatic and really beautiful. (Details on the space can be found in this article)

Yes I know I posted an office on Saturday. Kim even posted an office on Sunday but I knew you would forgive a hat trick of workplaces once you set eyes on this library nirvana. This is Hordern House, a purveyor of rare books, manuscripts and paintings in Sydney’s Surry Hills. Richly layered, beautifully curated, this gem of a space was designed by Studio Kate and is quite possibly the most beautiful retail/office space I have ever set eyes upon. Once I had entered I would never want to leave.
