Stalking leftovers

Posted on Sat, 22 Feb 2014 by midcenturyjo

Busy day. In a rush. You know the story. I’m fussy. You like to look anyway 🙂 Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or no furniture at all! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s leftovers include a penthouse apartment with a fab Sydney harbour view, a cute little art deco flat, a spiral staircase that is a work of art and speaking of art let’s dance. Stalking partners

I have a stalking partner. Her name is Anne. We’ve never met. She stalks alone, I stalk alone as all good stalkers do but Anne is generous. She shares her targets with me. Like this cute little Darlinghurst, Sydney house. I think we need to buy it so we can meet up in Sydney every so often and stalk property in real life. Oh! That’s called attending open for inspections isn’t it? Link here while it lasts.

The renovation of a stucco box

Posted on Mon, 17 Feb 2014 by KiM

Hunter Kenihan of design/build firm Indian Summer Investments is at it again with another spectacular renovation. Located near Marina Del Rey, California, this 1950’s 3 bedroom, 2 bath + den home was completely updated with Hunter’s trademark industrial touches that I love – including reclaimed wood inside and out. Some wicker, southwestern patterns and warm colour palette like in the previous home we featured make this a winning combination for an easy sell. Even if you aren’t into the decor, take notes folks, as once again this is how you stage and photograph a home on the market.

Stalking leftovers

By now you know that I am fussy when it comes to my real estate stalking. Fussy, fussy, fussy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or no furniture at all! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s leftovers include an OTT art deco complex with a bathroom of greenest green, a two storey penthouse that is chaotic and classy, a couple of small pools that caught my eye and a 60’s iconic house that needs to be saved not bulldozed by developers. Stalking a large rear end

I’m always fascinated by large additions to modest suburban homes. Don’t get me wrong.  By maintaining the facade the streetscape is preserved, the original house is “recycled” and resources are not wasted, the designs are often stylish and provide day to day living solutions but sometimes I feel like the house is turned to a mirror saying “Does my butt look big in this?” Link here while it lasts.
