First admired on Remodelista (still my number one go to blog) this elegant space saving loft bed solution by Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture is only surpassed by the actual project.  The loft bed image led me to this bijou studio/workspace that is not only beautiful in its simplicity but inspiring in its spatial solutions to small scale living. Brilliant. (Those ingenious stairs remind me a little of these.)

About a month ago my twin sister and I carted a crapload of stuff over to our parent’s house and all of us had a big garage sale. It was a complete bust. Unfortunately my husband forgot to put up ads online so all we had were a few signs on the road. I think we sold $50. We’re attempting another garage sale this Saturday from 8-2 so anyone in the Ottawa area MUST come out and BUY MY CRAP! I’m selling just about everything I own as I’m tired of it all and am going a completely different route whenever the house gets done and we can redecorate. (On a side note, here is a little sample of how disastrous this whole project has been going. We received an email yesterday morning, about 6 weeks after our plans were submitted to the city for permits, that because our house is approx. 100 ft from the highway, our project requires approval from the Ministry of Transportation. WTF?!?!) Alot of the items are still in my parents’ garage, and I have a bunch of stuff buried in my basement that I also would part with. I couldn’t go today without one more fabulous garden by Eckersley Garden Architecture. How fabulous to sit and sip tea in the morning sun, share a communal platter of food in the dappled shade. Lush and lovely, relaxed and just perfect.

The weather is warming in the Southern Hemisphere and a design blogger girl’s mind turns to gardening. I love overgrown, leafy spaces with a space for entertaining, a spot to read the paper, sip tea, perhaps a vege garden, some fruit trees, fabulous colour. Nothing too formal. Something just a little different but always with lovely, large leaves and vigorous, vibrant vines. I’ve always been a fan of Australian garden designer Rick Eckersley. Rick and partners Scott Leung and Myles Broad of Eckersley Garden Architecture must have read my mind. How perfect are both of these gardens!
