Roughing it??? Far from it! This home has got to be the fanciest rustic cabin I think I have ever seen. It has everything a cabin typically has – reclaimed wood, stone, floors that look like they’ve been there 100 years, exposed beams, a place to BBQ….but this is anything but typical. This beauty was designed by Kelly & Stone Architects and takes rustic living to a whole new level.
I’ve featured the bedroom before. It’s one of my all time favourites but I thought it was time to post the whole house. Yum! I’m in love with this Cronulla Residence by Amber Road. The restrained colour palette warmed by timber tones, the layering of texture, the light, the luxury of simple, contemporary lines.

I love a little drama. Oh be honest Jo. I love a lot of drama. Why settle for a bland rabbit warren of rooms when you can create and cajole, imagine and conceive a space that screams luxury and sensory titillation. In the burbs no less. Melodrama! Meet the Bride as in the Bride and Groom by Russell & George. I’ll let them explain.
“This house is stage one of the transformation of an existing 1950s suburban house into one half of a grander vision. Dubbed the Bride and Groom, stage one is the bride, a decadent layered and luxurious series of reception and sleeping rooms. Stage two will be an open stone pavilion.”
I have one more project by Amanda Masters to share today. Again, with an all white backdrop, but this time it is much more subdued with some glamorous features added in for sophistication, and industrial touches to keep the vibe casual. Again, it is ON.
This beach house designed by Amanda Masters is EVERYTHING. Dear gawd I love this. The all white backdrop makes all of the fun and rustic vintage pieces the focus, and bold textiles with lots of pattern pop. It is bohemian chic at its finest.
