Sunday magazine inspiration

I am sharing a bit of Architectural Digest inspiration today as these 2 homes caught my attention hard and really got my design juices flowing. This first one was featured in AD France and is located in Place du Palais-Bourbon. Doesn’t get much swankier than that…until you see inside this apartment! It is a stunner, down to the brass trim in the living room. And will you look at the hardwood in the photo below!! Designed by Studio KO, photos by Ambroise Tézenas.

This was in just as fabulous but much more casual, bright and showcases some gorgeous vintage furniture and lighting. Featured in AD Germany, this next home is that of fashion photographer Andrea Maino and is located in a 100 year old converted shoe factory in northern Italy. Photos by Helenio Barbetta.

An art-driven apartment

Whether your space is small, like in this Woolloomooloo apartment, or large, art can be the star of the show and have a huge impact on the decor. In this case it brings alot of drama and interest to an otherwise boring structure lacking architectural details. Another fabulous project by Sydney-based interior designer Jason Mowen. Studio Daskal Laperre extras

I wanted to share a bit more from the Belgium interior architecture duo Daphné Daskal and Stéphanie Laperre. Because these spaces are poetic. Somewhat minimalist, elegant, meticulous, artistic. My adoration continues.

A converted school in Budapest by artKRAFT

Posted on Tue, 13 Nov 2018 by KiM

I am sharing some industrial loft love today care of the new home for the industrial design group artKRAFT. Located in a former school in Budapest, it is 125 m² of rough, well-worn awesomeness, as I have come to expect from these folks. I love that they left it as one large room, with the exception of the bathroom of course :), and they maintained as many of the original fittings as possible. What a fun space to decorate and redecorate with lots of light and potential! (Photos: Csaba Barbay of Flashback Studio)

(Check out this industrial space they also designed)

I find myself, especially this time of year, drawn to rich, warm tones that would make the white and grey exterior of Canadian winter less harsh and miserable. This Darlinghurst terrace home designed by Jason Mowen is just beautiful. Shades of brown, rust and mustard really set the stage here. Velvet is my favourite fabric so I’m dying over the sofa in the first few photos. Perfection. (Photos: Felix Forest)
