Urban Cowboy B&B

Posted on Tue, 24 Jun 2014 by midcenturyjo

They call it “Industrial Williamsburg/Adirondack/Cowboy Sensibility”. I call it cool. Would you believe this is a Brooklyn townhouse? Hell no. Better still it’s a B&B and there is even a log cabin out back. Time to pack the bags, check in and soak up the hipster vibes. Welcome to Urban Cowboy B&B.

Railway House

I love a well-executed conversion. This one is a former railway cottage situated between a railway line and a national park in Velsen, The Netherlands. It was designed by ZW6 Interiors and is such a beautiful marriage of old heritage and modern aesthetics. Steel, concrete & glass blend magically with greenery, crumbled brick and wooden beams. What a dream house.

Another loft to love

Give me any type of loft, any day of the week and I am on cloud nine. Include a kitchen with exposed brick wall, concrete countertops, reclaimed wood cabinets and Jieldé lights and I am drooling all over my computer. This loft is gorgeous. Via Istanbul-based Vimana Design.

Northcote Residence

Simply put… a modern extension to an historic home. In reality… delicious design. The Northcote Residence by Wolveridge Architects, shortlisted for the Australian Interior Design Awards 2014.

Is that a Space Invaders house?

How cool! I already love the modern open plan, the concrete and the white brick, the bright yellow and hot pink accents as well as the pool but what I really, really love are the Space Invader motifs in the brickwork. Crass? No way! Life is too short not to have a sense of humour. Florence House by Perth, West Australia based Klopper & Davis Architects.
