A traditional finca and the masterly touch of Swiss architect and designer Valérie Chomarat has resulted in a sensuous minimalism where tradition meets modern with a restrained line, form and palette.
This castle is, in my humble opinion, an absolute dream. Its 7 bedrooms, studio apartment, kitchen with fireplace and scullery, numerous bathrooms, glass-enclosed veranda, large barn on 2 hectares are all in really good condition leaving the new owner the time to move in, experience its beauty for a time and then decide what changes to make. Located near the towns of Nérac and Lectoure, and listed with Selection Habitat for €1,166,000.
With its minimalist lines, natural finishes and archways for doors this Brooklyn Brownstone by New York-based interior designers Jae Joo Designs has an almost zen-like feel. Imbued with beauty and streamlined function as well as a soft colour palette it is restrained and elegant.
It’s the understanding of space and structure that sets this 70 m2 apartment in Marais, Paris apart from your usual cookie-cutter small space design. A spiral staircase may save space and allow sight lines but why have something pedestrian? Make it a monumental one. It’s an upward spiral, a strong design statement.
