Not your ordinary bathroom

Posted on Tue, 28 May 2013 by KiM

I have another luxurious, statement bathroom for you with a serious WOW factor by Royston Wilson Design & Minosa Design. This one is pretty bold, with a larger than life Mr. Bonaparte checking you out while you bathe. Black colour scheme, LED lighting that changes colour, and a disco ball over the tub, this is definitively not a bathroom for the faint at heart. Did I mention WOW? (Read more about it here)

A big thanks to Nina for introducing us to the work of Finnish photographer Krista Keltanen. She is super talented, especially at post processing. Love the deep contrast and brightness of her photos. Gorgeous.

(thanks to the photo above I’m seriously about to go get a can of black paint from the basement and paint my backsplash)

Cooking in the dark

So rich, so lush, so adult, so divine. Like a deliciously wicked dark chocolate cake only better. A stunning modern intrepetation of the old eat in kitchen. Seriously sexy! Seriously! The Bridge Street Project by interior designer Beatrix Rowe and short listed for the finals of the 2013 Australian Interior Design Awards.

Dark boy

Dark and moody. The room, not the teenage boy I can see dumping piles of clothes in the corner and stayying up late into the night by the glow of a computer screen. By Sydney based Designers In The City.

I think the idea of layered rugs is graphic and unique, but although I’m sure the space above was styled just for this shoot, wouldn’t that be beyond annoying? Your chair getting caught on one of 5 rugs while you try and get up from the table? And OMG how do you vaccuum all these??? (…that’s the 7-cat owner in me spazzing at the thought).
