A modern home in Brussels

Amidst a forest in Brussels lies a home built of brick and glass. Modern in design, simple in architecture and decor. The surrounding landscape is the jewel of this home. Created by Studio Daskal Laperre.

There is 100% chance that these rose-colored mirrors will not be properly hung for at least one month. Anyone else hate hanging things on walls? 🙋🏽‍♀️Also—did you even notice the cat? 🤣 . . . . . . . . . #dspink #dtipetsonfurniture #pinkwalls #mycovetedhome #showusyourhygge #shoemyourstyled #makehomematter #homemagic #secondhandsanctuary #iheartthishaven #myhousehomemade #lovewhereyoudwell #myboldhues #interieuraddict #myeclecticmix #sassyhomestyle #mycovetedhome #colorismyjam #mybohotribe #printspatternstexturesohmy #greatthingscometothosewhothrift #planteriordesign #howyouhome #eclecticallymade #howwedwell #thisiswhyicraveinteriors #boldbohemians #bozestool #makehomeyours #houseplanthome #globaldecor

When leaving kids at home for an international trip in 1.5 days, but have limited time, do you: . 1. Clean for your MIL (who is kindly coming to look after your children and home) . 2. Find your passport, because you’re an asshole who doesn’t know where your passport is . 3. Start to sift through clothes and figure out what you’re wearing to the wedding you are traveling to Italy for and hope the dry cleaner has quick turn around. . 4. Spend the afternoon on Instagram pretending like none of this shit needs to get done. . . 1,2,3 … shoot! Let me know how you’d play this game (aka Kate’s obscenely unorganized life)! . . . . . #showmeyourboho #thejungalow #planteriordesign #mybotanicalbungalow #stellarspaces #lonnymag #thedecorsocial #theeverygirlathome #thenewbohemians #crashbangcolour #colourmyhome #inmydomaine #apartmenttherapy #myhomevibe #mybohotribe #mybohohome #heyhomehey #houseplantclub #greenyourfeed #mybohoretreat #landgathome #plantbabies #currentdesignsituation #plantsofinstagram #plantladyisthenewcatlady #ihavethisthingwithplants #eclecticallymade #myeclecticmix #instahome #vintagehome

Have you met our unofficial mascot? This is Mona, posing here with our latest estate sale find and doing her best “blue steel” expression. Her full name is Ramona Quimby after the precocious tomboy from the Beverly Cleary series. Mona enjoys making out with her bed, taking her humans on walks, sniffing loudly at the front door to intimidate passerby in the hall, and eating anything that falls on the floor. She also needs to have her butt touching the nearest human at all times. One minute you’re standing at the sink washing dishes and the next thing you know there’s a frenchie butt nudged up against your foot. 😂 That’s Mona! Tell us about your furry family members! 👇

Some from me. Everything is fair game to be laid upon by my cats. Felix taking over my book. And yesterday morning I walked past the bedroom and caught this snuggle-fest with Felix and Frankie. The ferals don’t understand the concept of personal space when it comes to their best buddy Felix. He graciously tolerates this behaviour.

Sunday in Paris at Le Pigalle

Posted on Sun, 4 Nov 2018 by KiM

It’s Sunday and I have a day full of errands and preparing for another busy week. Where would I rather be? Perhaps in Paris, enjoying a cocktail at Le Pigalle. I shared some of this hotel in a post last week featuring the designs of Festen Architecture. I can’t seem to get it out of my head so I thought I would share more of this funky hotel. It is exactly the vibe I would expect in this beautiful city. Effortlessly chic.

If any of you were questioning the use of lots of colour and pattern in your home, take a lesson from the Burke sisters. Anna and Caroline Burke of Anna Burke Interiors went wild in this Upper East Side duplex, and I adore every square inch. Moss green velvet walls, seagrass rugs, banquettes and more banquettes, murals, grasscloth, the glossiest of gloss walls, polka dots, stripes…….

Saatva Dreams

Posted on Thu, 1 Nov 2018 by KiM

Dear readers, let me start off by saying this is a sponsored post. The items I am reviewing here were gifted to me. Everything I am about to tell you about these items is 100% true and my honest opinion. These items sat in boxes for a week or 2 before I was able to unpack them and try them out. And once I did this past Friday it was, I kid you not, a GAME CHANGER.

Saatva is one of the top mattress companies in America. They recently launched Saatva Dreams – an affordable yet luxurious line of sheets and pillows. The sheets are silky-soft sateen in a 300-thread count, long-staple, organic cotton weave and the pillows are plush, weighty, hotel-quality pillow with eco-friendly, supportive, shredded American Talalay latex. I’ll talk more about them in a bit. Here is a shot of what I received:

Let me start by saying I am a sucker for good packaging, and Saatva Dreams scored big time. My 2 king-sized pillows arrived in a zip-up bag (that I am going to reuse to store off season blankets) and the 2 sheet sets came in beautiful boxes that I will also reuse. Then inside the boxes the sheets were wrapped in tissue, and under the tissue was a thick canvas sack (also reusable!) with the sheets inside. Whoa!

And here they are. 2 king sized pillows, and 2 king sized grey and ivory sheets (the sheets also come in white).

I was really impressed when I first handled them at how plush the pillows felt, and how soft the sheets were. I have to tell you how this all went down so you fully understand how awesome these products are. I spent Friday afternoon unpacking all of this, making my bed with the grey sheets and ivory pillow cases, ironing (first and last time I iron sheets), and taking photos. When I was done all of that I decided to watch a bit of TV in bed and see how I felt about the new set-up. And that’s basically where my life changed. I spent a good 3 hours cuddled up in bed with some of the cats until I finally had to climb out for dinner, and as soon as I finished eating I climbed back in and did not leave until the following morning. I KID YOU NOT. These pillows and sheets are the best I have ever owned. It felt like I was living it up in a hotel room lounging like a queen. They really are a game changer, and I cannot sing their praises enough. (I showed up at work on Monday telling anyone who would listen about them – LOL!) I have slept better since using them than I have in a really long time. If you’re in the market for sheets and pillows, you MUST give these a try. And if you’re not in the market, treat yourself. Or put them on your Christmas list and have someone else treat you. They will take your netflix and chillin’ to a whole other level. 😉
